The colors look great! I think adding too much more to the character might not be needed. But you could maybe make the background darker, so that the cute cat stands out even more. :)

This reminds me of a scene in The Neverending Story, with the gigantic turtle! I think this one is more destructive. Hopefully your pet doesn't do this! Uh oh..
